Good Faith Estimate & Your Right to Know

Good Faith Estimate & The No Surprises Act

At Heavenly Counseling, we are committed to being transparent about the cost of your care. In compliance with the "No Surprises Act," you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of your expected medical costs. This is designed to protect you from unexpected bills.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a document that outlines the expected costs for the therapy services you will receive. It is not a bill, but an estimate of charges for items and services that are reasonably expected for your healthcare needs.

The estimate will show:

1. The total expected cost of any non-emergency medical services.

2. A list of services you can reasonably expect to receive for your treatment.

The GFE is based on the information known at the time the estimate is created and does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.

Who is Entitled to a Good Faith Estimate?

You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate if you are either:

1. Uninsured: You do not have health insurance coverage.

2. Self-Pay (or Private Pay): You have insurance but choose not to use it for our services.

How Does It Work?

  • We will provide a Good Faith Estimate in writing to all uninsured and self-pay clients upon request or prior to your scheduled service.

  • You must receive the estimate within 3 business days of your scheduled appointment if the service is scheduled at least 10 business days out.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good-Faith Estimate for your records.

Our Commitment to You:

We want you to feel secure and informed. We will discuss our fees with you before your first session and will provide you with a GFE so you can make the best decision for your care.
