PANDAS/PANS: Dr. Adame's Sample Treatment Plan

Once you enroll your child in our PANDAS/PANS Clinic, you are able to schedule the first virtual intake with Dr. Adame in about 4 weeks after enrollment.

We understand waiting this long for the first appointment can be distressing. However, the wait time is essential so that first visit can be productive, streamlined, and focused on developing a treatment plan, NOT trying to piece together what is often months or years worth of history.

We honor the patience and trust required with our onboarding process which we carefully designed to provide safe, timely, and high-quality care for your child.

We start with a thorough review of previous records, lab work, diagnostic testing, in-depth intake forms, and treatment goals.

NOTE: Algorithms and protocols are starting points. We are ready to pivot depending on the child's trajectory.

After the first virtual intake, you can can expect the following:

• Comprehensive, personalized labwork to identify infectious triggers, micronutrient deficiencies, and rule out conditions that mimic or exacerbate PANDAS/PANS

• Dr. Adame will recommend holistic, non-pharmaceutical interventions such as high-protein, high-fiber, anti-inflammatory nourishment; mindfulness based stress reduction such as cortisol sound baths, restorative sleep solutions, vagal nerve stimulation, and more.

• After the initial visit, Dr. Adame will order supplements such as Omega3, Magnesium, and Vitamin D as well as pharmaceuticals such as Low Dose Naltrexone and Leucovorin. She will order additional interventions such as mold detox protocols, steroids, antibiotics, anti-fungals, ENT referral, and IVIG after all lab results are reviewed and she has evaluated the child personally at their in person appointment in Culver, which is typically the second appointment after enrollment.

• We offer frequent follow up, about 1-2 times per month, and ongoing support to track progress and side effects. Our team also provides support during flare ups.
